Let me solve your clutch problem, first forget all the technical measurements. The problem is in varying thickness of different clutch discs and some wear in the mounting holes for the release bearing. Back in the early '70s Saab provided flat metal shims to install between the flywheel and the pressure plate, none to be found now. I go to the hardware store and buy thin wave washers with an 8mm hole in them and use them for shims. I use them on every new clutch installation. You can remove them later as the clutch wears if you feel ambitious. I actually can install the washers thru the inspection plate hole with out removing the engine, but you need very talented fingers to do the job. The thick disc causes the pressure plate contact surface to move too far in toward the flywheel, and the release bearing will hit the pressure plate fingers before the clutch will release.
