So let me get this straight, the car drives fine? just a funny noise?
I would not listen to the dealer. Find an good indie from this site if you want it professionally checked out.
Granted, the clutch is a weak spot for the NG900, but I wouldn't worry about a slight noise. When it goes, it goes. Do you know how old the clutch is? At over 100k, it might be time for a new one... est $800
I would check the level of the gearbox oil, might be worth changing it (est $30), and seeing how bad the leak really is. If its still running after 100k, it can't be that bad.
I bought my 95 900SE Turbo with 80k, and within a year, it needed a new clutch, new tires, new DI. I picked it up cheap, so I half expected trouble. After doing most of the routine maintenance / mods off this site, it runs much better than when I bought it.
