...it is really hard to avoid that. When I removed the door panels on my 9-3 base to install the door speakers and add sound-proofing material I tried to be careful, but I ended up with a mark like that (only slightly worse) on one of the door handles.
As others have suggested, careful trimming with a blade and pressing the plastic with a rounded object is the about the best you can do. I, too, like to keep my Saab as pristine as possible, but "stuff happens". Life is too short to stress too much about this. Just my $0.02.
