My black DI went 107,000 miles. Even then, it didn't leave me stranded, just started giving some check engine lights for misfires.
The dealer could put in a new serpentine belt, and the new one could fail and leave you stranded the next day, too. Or a water pump.
I don't mean to make light of your concerns. I'd be angry too, if I'd been left stranded. But my philosophy is that many things can fail on a car, and of a car leaves me stranded, I'll call AAA and have it hauled home, then deal with it.
Furthermore, I contend that I'm less likely to be stranded in a modern car, even with all the complicated electronics, than I would have been in a car from three or four decades ago.
Best regards,
Dave
