at the same time -- a 1999 Viggen and a 2002 aero. I think the 9-5s handling is excellent. 02+ aeros are better than 00-01 aeros. The 00-01 aeros have the same suspension as your mom's linear, but handles a little better due to the 17 inch rims. I never feel like I am in a much bigger car hoping between the two models. The 9-5 will just feel much more refined.
Are you thinking used for $399? You won't come close to that payment without a bunch of money down. Generally your looking in the $450 to $600 payment range with $0 down (Linear to Aero). If you could find an 02 aero thats price right (i have seen some 30K 02 aeros for $21.5K to $23K) you could get in the $375 range.
Since I haven't experienced the broken heater knob issue...why is that such a huge deal? How much does it cost to fix? Isn't your 99 in top notch condition otherwise if I remember correctly?
