really tough to track, but could be tracked to the ignition switch. Turning the switch to "on" energizes the fuel pump, but if the next turn to start has a bad connection the car will intermittently not start.

The stalling at the stop light, though, points to something else. I tend to doubt it's the fuel filter if the car runs OK otherwise, but if it's been in there a while it's cheap enough to replace and is good for the car anyway. I agree that the pump may not have been the problem earlier.

See if there are any fault codes stored. Not all of them will trip a CEL. You may have to wait for the next non-start condition to find a code, as the system wipes many codes out if they don't keep happening over 3-5 drive cycles.
