Front/Rear seal blown? As in the crank seal(s)? All that would cause is oil to leak out, which of course would have its own consequences other than stains in the driveway.
You had to have the car towed, is the car running now? Why did you need to have the car towed? i.e. Started making horrific sounds, and you did not want to dive it further, or did it die completely?
Listening for an exhaust leak isn't a big deal, put your head on the ground next to the car and listen. Have somneone in the car give it a few light revs. Assuming you are familiar with what the car should sound like, exhaust leaking should be fairly obvious. Additionally depending on where the leak is, you may get some popping in the exhaust if you rev it, as fresh air will enter into the exhaust, after you lift off the pedal, from the outside and ignite the unburnt fuel in the exhaust.
