So I have now had my Saab about a month now, and it has been interesting so far. I learn new things about it everyday.
So far I've done a radiator, transmission and engine flush, as well as changed the spark plugs. It turned out that what I thought to be a blown head gasket was simply a leaking water pump, so that helped me a lot. Thinking all was well in my car I took a mini road trip from South San Diego up to Ramona yesterday to go see Paul Di'Anno (original Iron Maiden singer). My car passed the test....barely though. After going uphill for a while it seemed like the engine started to get tired, and was struggling to accelerate. After resting it during the show ran fine again, until about half way there, the battery light goes on and power steering went away....there went my belt. Luckily it made it back no problem though. So I'm looking at the belt and pulleys and notice that one of them (in the top back area if my description is enough) is a smooth pulley....which I doubt should be there. I wonder how that got there....Weird but not to expensive luckily. .....Anyway just to double check, the Serpentine belt(or alternator belt, whatever its called lol), does not use any smooth pulleys does it?
