So it turns out, the pulley really was the wrong one. I went into a dealer to confirm it. Got the new one on, seems fine now. I don't hear any whining at all either, and now, though I'm not sure if it's just because of the battery reset my system,(I don't really trust the SID calculation) but my mpg went way up. I drove about 25 miles, mostly freeway and its up to 20. It took me a whole month of driving before this to get it from 14 when I got it to 18.5 when they belt came off.
Thanks for everyone's input.....next task Smog, which I'm sure it's gonna pass.
