Hey Nicholas. Looked back at the RO from 9.20.12 for your 00 9-3. Previous SRS DTCs were P2871 and P2876, communication faults for both front side impact sensors. Id imagine with the amount of aftermarket scan tools available now there are scanners capable of reading SRS faults, maybe not capable of resetting/clearing the fault code. Dont really know what is available as I only use the T2 for Saabs and the Mercedes Star Diagnostic scanner for Benzs. Perhaps the bodyshop turned the key on with the side impact sensor/door unhooked from the vehicle? Maybe the clockspring did in fact go bad. Id ask them what specific DTC was generated and you can make a better diagnosis of where to go from there with repairs.
