Crappy Dealer Service(long)

Without mentioning any specific dealer, I want to know if I am the only person who feels that SAAB lacks the ability to retain customers due to poor service departments. On more than one occasion I have had service departments fall short of doing a complete job on repairs. Small things, mind you, but I experience lack of attention to details. Here is my latest beef with my service deparment-"Oh yea, you car has been done for hours-no one called you?" No, no-one called me, that is why I am calling you. Since the battery was disconnected, the radio codes weren't entered. OK, no big deal, codes entered. Then the battery was dead-"can you wait a half hour so we can charge the battery?"
OK, I will wait. Get in the car, mats covered with mud from the parking lot, fuse panel covered with grease, Di cassette smeared with anti-seize, and the topper, a big glob of grease on the hood. What a joke!
I called the service dept. manager the next day and told him what a horrible job they did and if I was a new customer, it would never return. He agrees and promised to take care of me next time. Ok, good enough. Sorry to complain, but I dread having to take my car to the dealer for repairs, because it is never a good experience. Just venting, so thanks for listening.
