Crappy dealer service at a Saab dealer? It is simply all too common. I have had my car in several times for a suspension problem (2000 9-5 with loose, sloppy steering)...they keep telling me they "lubed something." Meanwhile, the problem is getting progressively worse, to the point where I called the Service Manager at the dealership where I do business and asked him to get the Saab Regional Tech Manager into the dealership (for a second time) to meet with me, look at my car, and take it overnight if necessary. If he does not agree to replace mechanical components on the car this time (this will be the 6th visit), I am through with Saab.

2 major Saab dealers in the Boston area...here are some of the highlights:

1. I had a 9000 Aero...had one dealer mount new tires. Oops- they forgot to tighten the lug nuts on one of the front wheels.

2. I have a 900S. Had one of the dealers put my summer tires on. Dealer forgot to balance the tires.

3. Same dealer has had my car 5 times for the loose clunking I can feel in my steering...they keep lubing something, but I'm not sure what.

4. Every time either of the dealers needs to open one of the access panels under the dash, I then need to go back to them to have them replace the access door because it now won't shut properly.

If Saab, and this Saab dealer, do not fix my 9-5 on this last go around, then I'm all done with Saab and will buy an Acura. Too bad, because Saabs are utterly fantastic cars. However, the competition is just too good, and the new TSX and upcoming 2004 TL are fantastic, and (1) They don't break and (2) Their dealers know how to fix them when they do.

I'm too busy to have to keep bringing my car in for improperly performed repairs (or repairs not performed at all). There are too many great cars out there to put up with that baloney.
