I would hope they have one at your school. In endurance athletes, pushing water consumption is dangerous because it can lead to hyponatremia (low blood sodium), potentially fatal. Your races are not long enough to make this a possibility, but your practices are. In the Ironman triathlon, the incidence of hyponatremia dropped drastically when they reduced the number of hydration stations.
Hyponatremia occurs when there is significant salt loss in sweat and the athlete is taking in replacement fluids which are more dilute. For those with particularly salty sweat, it's even hard to keep up with Gatorade in an ultra-endurance event.
Previous approaches to ensuring proper hydration consisted of weighing athletes before and after long practices or events and insisting that those two weights agree. Now, it is accepted that a small amount of weight loss is normal in an endurance event. For a marathon, losing a couple of pounds is normal, and maintaining one's weight during a long event indicates over-hydration.
Yes, you need more water if you're exercising heavily, but forcing fluids is unlikely to be helpful and may be dangerous for longer events or practices. Discuss this in person with a sports medicine doc to get some specific recommendations for you. You want a non-operative sports medicine specialist, not a surgeon for this issue. Where do you go to school?
