If you go to court you can probably get it reduced to a PJC (prayer for judgment continued, IIRC), basically meaning you only pay court costs and it doesn't go on your record unless you commit another "similar" offense in the next three years, then it may come back to haunt you. You arrange this by speaking to the DA at your initial plea hearing. Plus since this arrangement is basically designed as the legal equivalent of giving good people who occasionally screw up a break you might even avoid some of chrisx's moral indignation.
However, since you aren't getting points and the better part of that $104 is probably the court costs anyway, you won't save much and you could be "wasting" that PJC. I imagine your record will just show "other" without the details if you are pulled over again, though I don't know this for a fact. It's definitely not worth going to trial for, unless you are interested in the experience and have tons of free time on your hands, even though they won't change the charge on you (there would be too much paper work involved with that anyway).
