Drove one when it was used iron at a dealer I worked at. Was pretty bad, slow steering, soft ride, etc., but as a utilitarian car it really wasn't all that bad---especially for the 70s when it came out. You look at most cars from back then and they were pretty bad, especially domestics. The Pacer just looked too weird to succeed then.
But if you brought one fo those out now, with modern drive train, interior, handling, etc, it would probably sell OK.
