Some interesting comments from you all and I have to rant as well;
If I gained experience at an indy shop,went to a tech school for two years supplied my own tools and fixed your car based on a fair ASE labor scale - that cost is a fair market value. If it is not that shop will not stay in business. Your other options are DIY or an Indy shop. When you take into account that a good share of high school students are not interested in the mechanical service industries that accounts for recruitment bonus. Repairing cars is rarely easy and the repairs that are (brakes,belts,hoses) are usually DIY for that reason. You hate to hear bad experiences from those with limited dealer/indy shop options, but I surely don't begrudge my mechanic making enough money to make a living and I am not even sure that 50k gets that done these days. You can always take on a more difficult tasks with the bentley in hand. After having your car sitting apart in your garage for a week, your knuckles bloody and you frustrated, pissed off and no doubt drunk as well you might reconsider your comments and find that $95 is pretty reasonable.
