I couldn't agree any more!
My friend had a 2000 BMW 740Ia (a is the sport package)

I absolutely loved that car...like sitting in a plane's cockpit...lights everywhere (I'm a gadget whore). And the car still had that BMW feel that they always have had. His lease ended and he got a 2003 745...while it rides nice, handles well for a big car, it seems to have lost all 'nostalgia' that they used to have. IMHO...I think it was a big mistake for BMW to change what they had. Also, I've heard nothing but complaints from owners of the new 5's active steering system. Seems as though no one can get used to it.
