Our family has been cross country skiing in upstate New York State (Lake Placid, etc), Vermont and New Hampshire for the past 20 years or so. Have done the skating style, but really prefer the classic motion. Coldest experience over the years was -25F below zero in Warrensburg, NY......having the 5W30 motor oil made quite a difference in that we were on of about 3 cars (out of the 25 in the motel parking lot) that started that morning. Having to deal with the kind of extreme winter conditions in ski areas makes one really appreciate having a Saab.
