Spent 10 days XC and photographing in Yellowstone. Built a lot of endurance in that time. Amazing to watch Old Faithful all by yourself at 7am. The whole geyser basin is great, but the best skiing is uphill. Also downhilled at Jackson Hole for a few days before and after Yellowstone.
I'm from Toledo OH and ski around Traverse and Grayling in Mich, and anytime there is good snow locally, it is fine for skiing. My 7yr old has slowed down the number of vacations, but he has taken well to skis.
