So far, I think it's a good oil, and my car seems to turn over more easily using it in very cold weather (vs M1 0W-40). Turbo lag (not that I had much to begin with) is definitely reduced. M1 15W-50 might be too thick for kaslop in Canada! I had zero problems with GC down to -26°C in Vermont a few weeks ago.
GC is a high 30 weight (12.2 cSt) and it has an HT/HS viscosity of 3.6, same as Mobil 1 0W-40.
It's said that GC doesn't shear easily; we shall see. I'm doing a UOA at 3,000 miles and then again at 6,000 miles. Let's see if my engine will tear this stuff apart...
In the past, my engine has always sheared M1 0W-40 down to a 30 weight!
Admittedly, it's not a big deal, so long as the engine stays clean and wear metals are consistent.
But if the GC thins out also, I will probably move on to Delvac 1 5W-40.
The quest for the "holy grail" continues! :-)
