IIRC the problem with aluminum wiring was the expansion difference between it and the copper or brass screws on the sockets and switches. After a while they would loosen up and arc possibly causing a fire. I remember a fix that consisted of a few inches of copper wire that crimped on the end of the aluminum wire then was attached to the switch or socket. This seemed to eliminate the fire hazard. Is this feasible?
