Have been running 87 octane in my 99 93se since I got it 3 months ago. Just dug out the owners manual and it says under fuel requirements " recommended octane rating....minimum 87 AON unleaded gasoline". Not too helpful as the word minimum seems to suggest that 87 isn't optimal. Also odd is the fact that directly below fuel requirements the manual lists only the 185 horse engine variants. No mention of the HO engine. So... time to bite the bullet and pay the extra half buck per gallon and run a few tanks of high octane through. If the performance difference seems more than psychological I'll repost(ever notice how your car seems to run better after a carwash?).
