How likely is this vehicle to be actually driven off road or tow anything? The most popular SUVs these days are the car-based ones such as the RX330, XC90, MDX/Pilot, etc. They have more luggage and passenger space than a wagon, 4wd, and slightly more ground clearance. The issue of people leaving the Saab brand to buy a SUV has never come with what SUV they were buying. Do you really think they were getting a Tahoe/Expedition/Trailblazer type vehicle or a RX300/XC90? I don't know, but my feeling is the latter. The SRX and pacifica are two more examples. There just really big wagons, not off-road monsters.
I wish they had done what Volvo did for the XC90 and expand on the 9-5 wagon.
