On my 88 900T, I see lots of Bosch parts for example. I have to replace lots of them. There are a lot of parts Saab does not ever make in older cars (like the LH fuel injection system, AMM ($$$), o2 sensors, shocks, wheels, fluids, FPR, coils, wires, plugs, lights, etc.. ) newer cars may have seats made by lear, lots of lucas stuff, etc.. No reason why even more of those things can't be shared as complexity increases. I've spent more on little parts than i ever could on an engine.
It all makes for cheaper repair parts and competition from multiple repair parts sources as time goes on. We used car lovers love deals and choices on repair parts.
