With your 20 years of schooling are you too good to get your hands dirty? Then pay someone with a "skill" to do it for you. Try to plumb a house and tell me no skill is invloved. Make sure everything is up to recent codes too!...which require seminars, certifications, and more schooling down the line....not to mention other peoples "crap" you are dealing with.........

My father was a plumber for 45 years, worked for the same company the whole time. He worked mostly industrial type work, but both of his knees have been replaced since he retired....I had him to some work for me recently and he can't move like he did when he was 30.

He's paying for it now, but he raised 5 kids and put them all through college. I admire the man, cause he never had a problem towing an old Saab home for me to restore...or take one to a show.

Don't critize a man until you walked a mile in his shoes.....then when you are a mile away, you will have his shoes....but will you be any more knowledgeable?

Can you solder a pipe so it doesn't leak? I just had to replace walls and a downstairs shower in my rental because of a joint that dripped for years...thousands of dollars of damage...and maybe an hour of work for a "skilled" plumber to fix, before the damage occured. hmmm...could have had a plumber fix it 5 years ago for $100, but now it's costing $2000 to fix.....
