One of the things I like most about my 9K is that I can sit on 80 mph and get 30 mpg. Or over 35 at 70-75. In a comfortable, safe car with lots of room for people and stuff.
Now imagine a 9-5 Saab with a 100 hp electric motor and a 1.5 liter turbo 4 cyl with a 125 hp or so. That'd be a VERY interesting car.
I think hybrids are going to be big and I'm sure one will be in our driveway a few years down the road. I'm very interested in seeing the Ford Escape, and Toyota will no doubt have a similar vehicle before long.
I like the concept a lot but since I keep cars a long time, I don't like the battery replacement issue, but that will change, too.
It's gonna get interesting and it'd be great if Saab was a big player. It'd certainly be in keeping with some of the philosophy that has been part of Saab for years.
