I knew it was coming, and it was given an article in this month's Automobile magazine, but can you believe the upcoming design regulations on Euro spec cars?! I can't wait to see how the designers cope with these stupid rules. And the reason is....so people hit by cars won't be killed or injured as much. I mean come on, I am all for safety, and I feel bad for anyone hit by a car, but this is ridiculous. Thankfully the mid and rear engine cars will probably not need much of a redo, but a lot of the current euro cars will need serious reworking to comply, Saab included. I guess everyone will have to buy 911's, 360 Modenas and Lamborghini's. And I am pretty sure that the manufacturers won't make two models, one for the US and one for Europe. Bangle must be preparing consumers for radical designs before they are actually mandated. I bet more people will like his BMW's after the new reg. cars come out. Even Rolls-Royce will likely have to change their famous grill to comply. Thankfully cars designed before Oct. 2005 are grandfathered in...guess this means the new 5 series will last a long, long time, as well as most of the current European models.
