Sorry, but I'm a fan of CR. Perhaps they're too subjective for your taste when it comes to cars, maybe you put more stock in Motor Trend?
Walt is either a troll or hasn't even looked at CR and instead someone eles has told him Saab's suck. I just checked CR's website, and the 9-5 has an enviable reliability history, with the exception of electrical.
Excuse me, but the electrical "Poor" rating is justified. Haven't you heard of DI failures (mine shut down at 25,000 miles while doing 70 mph on crowded interstate loop around city).
CR may not be perfect, but neither are SAAB's.
