Most of you seem to know the joys and the pains of living in New England. There are benefits here in ATL. I'll be runnng my summer tires year round and when most of you are putting on your snows, I'll still be taking the saab through its paces. But I'd give that up in a heartbeat for a great fall ride through the White or Green Mountains, a fall mountain Bike ride at Groton Town Forest or even Stow Town Forest or a hike up Mt. Chicorua. March in Boston is brutal, potentially the only minth I don't miss. But I'll take a crisp evening sitting on a street corner in Harvard Square listening to some songer songwriter pound out some thoughtful tune on his guitar or even a stroll through some apple orchard to bring home a taste of falls goodness.
In your words below, you guys took me back to some of the guiltless pleasures of times past. So maybe tonight, I'll turn the heat down in the house, crack open the fireplace and dust off my Robert Frost, R.W. Emerson and H.D. Thoreau books and have myself a good read. If I could only find some good cider to finish off the setting, I'll be somewhere else, if only for a moment.
Thanks to all of you. It has been a good, healthy reminder of the pleasures of New England.
