possibly having your Bank try to arrange something. Yes, an official check/cashier's check is supposed to be as good as cash, but can cause a delay. Also, is the other party comfortable accepting that much cash? Just trying to interject about the money.

Now about long-distance buying. Please be sure you are comfortable enough to be able to walk away. If it is not what you want, or if anything is suspect about the car itself, WALK AWAY.

The only LD buying of a car I did was 1.5 hours away, but it was near the GF's house, and I watched it for several months. I might have done better, but I was too excited. There are some things that were probably overlooked, but I didn't care at the time; I also didn't know any better. Being a plane ride away, I would not have even considered walking away.

I forgot who, but reading here about car purchases off of eBay LD, the best advice - Be comfortable to walk away if something doesn't seem/isn't right!

Good luck! Although it seems like the Volvo troubles didn't pan out, I guess a new (to you) Aero is a good comforting factor! Thanks.
