to call when a week was left on their timeline.
Maybe you were a bit naive on this one, maybe not. It's hard to measure what is "dragging their feet" vs. "genuine holdups."
However, if you think that they are stalling, I would suggest two things. Contact your insurance company (especially if you are having to pay for a rental in ANY way beyond the timeline given to you). The job of your insurance company is to make you "whole" after your accident. It's why you pay premiums. This is supposed to happen within a reasonable timeframe, and if it does not, you have room to complain. Get them to advocate for you. Ask for someone's supervisor if you don't get anywhere. I'm always amazed by how things get resolved when I go up a level.
Another idea for the body shop: The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Since they are only a few blocks from work, I would stop over there EVERY DAY and ask for the manager of the shop for an update. Go in and look at your car. Check up on 'em. They will be inspired to finish so that they can be rid of you. Works on landlords, children, wives, and others ....
Good luck--hope that you're back in your SAAB soon.
