There is the perception that European makes suffer more "electronic" problems (like ABS, SRS, Check Engine warning lights coming on a lot more frequent than Jap makes). I guess that's true to a certain extent in relation to Audis, BMWs and Mercedes.
But I'm glad to say that, speaking from experience as an owner of a 9000CS (MY95) since 1995, Saabs (at least those dating from the mid-1990s) are electronically reliable. Yes, I've replaced the SRS ECU, but that's because it was physically wrecked by coolant from a leaking heater core. And although one of the front wheel's ABS sensor was replaced, it was again due to physical damage: sensor cable severed due to frequent twisting when front wheels turn left or right.
