every car is going to need new driveshafts/half shafts, oil leaks etc. especially where your car is, with <100K you start replacing everything. my current conv. (an '88) is rust free and most things replaced (ball joints, steering rack, front main seal) already so i'm good with that.
as far as bells and whistles of newer cars, i couldn't care less. if i could have my '74 BMW 2002tii back i would drive it several times a week, and my conv. has enough features for me, although i would like the power seat, with a height adjustment that came on the later C900 conv.
my first conv., thank god it got stolen. it was a chicago rust bucket not worth keeping in the long haul.
