the wipers may be an easy fix. Mine went on my 84 a coupla years ago...an hour from home in a ski area parking lot. My indy fixed it with a used part for short $$. Just live with the other stuff and fix it all over time or if it becomes dangerous. A mechanic will tell you about a lot of things that "need" to be done that are not necessarily essential or critical.

If you want to get out of the car, you might consider donating it. You get a tax deduction and the car goes on to another life or gets parted out. My 84 is departing in the next week or so. It needs a bunch of things fixed that I don't want to do and it will be a good car for someone. Yours might be in the same boat.
