Hi Yaofeng,
Sorry to hear about your Nikon getting stolen. I would wait for the Canon Rebel XT to come out first before making a final decision. Then, go down to the camera store and test drive the different cameras. What's your budget? Nikon's got the D70 and the discontinued D100 that are in the entry level. Canon's got the Rebel, Rebel XT, and 20D. Pentax has the istD and Minolta's got the Maxxum 7D. In the mean time, check out these websites:

They're great resources for get camera reviews and second, third, fourth opinions. They have plenty of samples you can download. You can't really go wrong with the DSLR's out there. You'll find they're a head and shoulder above just about any point and shoot digital camera out there. I went with Canon because their lens selection is great and I'm more familiar with their ergonomics and menus. But, that's just a personal preference.
Good luck and have fun shooting.
Ivan
