I have a cell phone as part of my job (we used to have beepers) and it is definitely a convenience (on the part of my employer) to be able to stay in touch INSTANTLY. Let me go on record to say, I hate my cell phone. Probably because when it rings (epsecially after 5pm), it means I have to do something. I would probably feel differently if I had gotten the cell for my own personal use, but then again, I LIKE NOT BEING ABLE TO BE REACHED! I sure do value my silence and the privacy that comes with it.

Personally, I will use my cell phone in the car. However, only in my wife's automatic, only on the highway when I know that won't be getting off, and only after I have reached cruising speed.

My work phone did come with a hands-free device as well as voice activated dialing, and this thread has certainly prompted me to learn how to use those features. But it won't make me use it in the car more often.
