Cross country road trip

I am planning a road trip for late July/August. I will exclude the eastern US and Canada since I have been there already. I am planning for a ballpark of 10K miles in a 03 Aero SW, but it could be more if I venture too much into Canada and/or Alaska (don’t think I want to take the Saab to Mexico). I have done a few 3K trips, but this is entirely different in terms of mileage and number of days. I will likely go south first and then north so that it is a little cooler when late August rolls around. I plan to drive speed limit + a few since any faster just adds stress and eats gas. I will use a roof box so that I can bring mores stuff along. Is the occasional triple digit speed ok, even with the roof box? I want to actually get to use the car’s potential for once. Still have to figure out whether I should use 17” Rosso summer tires or 16” WRs. I am alittle concerns that the Rossos may not last the whole trip even though they are nearly new (First set of fronts was shot by 12K). I would have to get these rotated every 4K or so to keep them lasting.
Any suggestions as to must sees/dos/eats that are not part of the more obvious destinations would be appreciated as would any tips from personal experience…these could be general or more Saab (or 9-5) specific. I’ll even take votes as to which dealer to stop at for servicing along the way. I’ll be posting more questions as I plan this in more detail.
