I'm setting my goals as "work now, play later."
Been doing crazy hours for the last bunch of years as my plan is to retire in another 5 years at 40 years old which seems to be panning along consistently well. Wife doesn't mind, I still always have time for her...plus I only need 4-5 hours of sleep a night. I have a hard time sitting around doing nothing, so I might as well spend that extra time earning money, instead of watching TV or whatnot. Want to spend the later part of life traveling, being a father/husband who's there all the time for his family and having fun from there on out.
It certainly hasn't been easy by any means, but aside of mortgage and car loans, we're not deep in debt. Been the plan I've had for a while, and I give my wife all the credit in the world for being so understanding and such a trooper. I don't think I'd be able to do it without her love and support. But she knows it will all be worth it in the long run. That's enough insentive to keep going at this pace.
