I attend the San Francisco Art Institute.

1. What do you think is the most important electronic gadget or device for a college student to have?
A laptop. The freedom to write papers and do research *anywhere* is invaluable -- a café or coffee shop, the park, the library, a friend's house, on a plane, at school, etc. Being tied to a desk by a desktop computer is a nightmare. However, this assumes that the student already has a cell phone -- doesn't everyone? If not, I think a cell phone is the superlatively essential and necessary gadget, even more than a laptop.

2. What is your favorite or most essential gadget or electronic device?
Aside from my cell phone, the gadget I use most extensively and frequently is my computer. If that too is assumed, then the next gadget would be my PDA which I rely on heavily to organize appointments, to-do items, appointments, and contacts. (I also use my iPod almost every day.)

3. What is the most extravagant or extreme gadget or electronic device that you have seen in a dorm room?
I abhor dorm life and have always lived on my own. The few dorms I have been to never had anything more extravagant than the latest Apple PowerBook or similar item.

4. What gadget or electronic device do you most want?
I wouldn't mind a Treo, or that gorgeous Motorola Razr V3 phone in black.

5. Do you have a unique electronic gadget? What is it?
Unique? Hmmm... perhaps... I will list them:
Apple Power Mac G5 (Dual 2.7 GHz) + 20" Apple display
Apple PowerBook G4 (800 MHz, 15.2" display)
Motorola V80 phone + Bluetooth wireless headset (handsfree is crucial if I need to talk while driving!)
Palm Tungsten E
Apple iPod (20GB)

There are also plenty of gadgets which I do NOT have, like a television or a complex stereo system (I just have the harman/kardon SoundSticks for my computer, aaah the age of digital music!).

And then of course... there's my beloved Saab 9-3!

Hope this helps,
Sebastian
