Why have a house at all? We could live in caves. Saabs? Who needs a car? We can hike out to where the buffalo live and, after we kill one with wooden clubs and sharp sticks, we can cut off a few parts to drag back to our cave, and leave the rest to rot. It's 4000 BC, and we are savages! Human life expectancy is 8 years; more like 22 years for those who don't get carried off by cougars before their ninth birthdays. But we can clearly see those points of light in the sky!
