Unless your home is a business and you expect lots of traffic from strangers who do not know your terrain, why would you feel the need to light up the world? Surely you didn't forget how to get to your own front door? Why would you want to burn the electricity unnecessarily, unless you have the money to burn carelessly. Use of lighting to deter thieves is a myth, if they want whats in your house they will get it one way or another. I feel sorry for your neighbors, night is dark for a reason, I hate motion lights as they trigger for the slightest falling leaf in an irratic and irritating manor. How many stars can you see in your neighborhood? Ever have a look at a light pollution map of the U.S. and Europe? Brightest spots on the planet at night, for what reason? It's called light pollution and has become an epidemic because folks think it's fashionable to light up their homes to show them off at night, cute and trendy..look at me! Look at my pretty paver pathway! Light pollution.
