"honestly think flu shots are hoax. I am in a "high risk" group, and supposed to get a shot. For 7 years in a row, I got the shot. I also got the flu 7 years in a row. The last 9 years, no shot. No flu. So 0/7 success rate with the shot, 9/9 success rate not getting the shot. Statistically impossible for that to be random chance."
First of all that's far too small a sample size to conclude anything. Second of all I'd recommend you read a bit about how the flu mutates and how the vaccines work before claiming vaccination is a hoax. I mean, do you even know what the H and N designations signify?
A flu vaccine does not provide 100% protection, but rather ~30-60% varying with each year and strain. This is no secret, but I'd say 30-60% is better than nothing. Every year new strains come along and every year new vaccines have to be made. Some years the protection is better than others. So you still have a risk of getting the flu in spite of the vaccine. On top of this you can easily get sick from another virus completely, but have flu-like symptoms. So there's no way of knowing if even 1 of the times you were sick was actually caused by the flu.
It's all very well to be sceptic, but lets keep it just a bit scientifical, shall we?
