My guess is you hear arguments from both sides of the fence. One side tells you you'll have more problems selling your houde in the future. The other side will tell you go go ahead and enjoy the years of fun. And the other side will say you'll be working like a dog to maintain it when the rest of the family lost interests eventually, and so on and so forth.
Actually this is what happened to us, except we only inherited a 24' round above ground when we bought the house. In 1994 the year of the infamous snow strom which hit new Jersey the old above ground collapsed. We (lack of forsight) bought a new one to replace it only to hire someone to tear it down two years later as the kids grew bigger and lost interests.
But every family is different. So is above ground vs. in ground.
