so important? I understand and enjoy the techno advantages in engine control systems, safety, ABS and even GPS, but the rest of it (to me anyway) is just fluff. And being a tad cynical, I see most of it is stuff waiting to break requiring the owner to help his friendly dealer make payments on his latest yacht or trophy home. I think that people who keep their cars a long time will be disappointed as all the techno-gadgetry dies or doesn't work as advertised over 10 years and 200K miles.
Most of the gadgets being put on cars don't make them drive better, go faster, or handle better. Or even make them more confortable. It's all marketing hoopla and hype... no real value.
