The guy was clocked by camera, in the desert, at dawn, arrested at home after safely arriving there. The article also describes a crack down of such speeders in the recent weeks but then with a gradual resumption of high speed vehicles. Does anyone familiar with the area have data on actual collision/ death rates for this stretch of road? Did the rates go down as the speed went down? Do lots of people die?
There seems to be an automatic assumption of reckless and dangerous driving based just on speed- and we all know that is just not true.
