That's why. American highways are not.
Just because a car can achieve those high speeds doesn't mean it's designed to go that fast. What if he had to make a sudden correction, to avoid some animal on the road or something? I don't for a minute believe that car was designed to handle well at those speeds. Porsches are made to handle well at high speeds, not Hyundais. Why do you assume there was no other traffic? Sure it was early in the morning on a Sunday, but that doesn't mean there were no other cars on the road, just that it wasn't commute hours. Phoenix and Scottsdale are not rural, unpopulated areas. And do you mean to suggest that people driving at or near the speed limit are a hazard and this guy was not?
Maybe you have a picture of your speedometer pegged at 150. Fine. I took my Saab up to 100 on I-5 once. But let's neither of us pretend there wasn't risk involved.
