If you haven't seen this video, check out the link below. It's of a gentleman driving a Ferrari up from the Arc de Triomphe to Sacre Coeur at full speed. Impressive stuff.
You could probably spend the whole 12 hours lost and confused in CDG. However, the airport is conveniently accessible by train. I don’t recall for certain, but I believe it is about a half hour trip. You could probably see one of the big sites like the Louvre or the Eifel Tower in the time you have. However, I would stroll down the Champs-Elysees, possibly wander down to the Seine and try to fit in Notre Dame. I’m also a big fan of Montmartre area. It’s a little off the tourist track, but very Parisian, great views of the city, the cemetery is very interesting, and Sacre Coeur is impressive. There is also a very interesting tour of the sewer system that would make for a different take on the city.
I’m certainly not an expert on Paris, so I’m sure others will chime in, but that could get you started.
