As an 11th grader, she only has this current semester and the fall semester next year to affect her grades/GPA/ class rank - if she wants to. Colleges choose the class based on (among other things) on the GPA of 10th, 11th and the first half of 12th grades. There will surely be a place for her, but just were is the issue. The school college councilor should be of some help- but I have been genuinely unimpressed with the help available at public high schools.
Sometimes "second tier" (but v good) private schools will take a chance on such talent just so they increase the average SAT of the incoming class. Strange stuff this college market positioning.
Does she want to go to college? - or rather some time "off" ie working? I have seen this issue of enormous talent with little direction often with boys. They flounder at something for a year or two and then just figure it out.
