First, I exceed the limit, often, and egregiously. In fact when I was much younger, I had my first experiences with legal representation when I was faced with losing my license (and my job, since I drove for a living) for too many speeding tickets. Now I only exceed on open interstates, or other places where it's clearly safe to do so. So I'm not going to deliver a sermon about not 'doing the crime if you ...' yadda, yadda.

BUT.. your attitude sucks and is a big reason cops and judges have theirs in traffic court.

I know where 45 mph speed zones are, and they're not out on the open road. They're in congested, commercial and residential areas. And i know what kind of cars attract undo attention from cops and they're not Saabs. They're Acuras, Hondas, BMWs, etc. If a cop pulls over a Saab for speeding, it's pretty likely he's right.

You can say that's just my opinion, but that's an opinion based on 31 years of driving for personal, and commercial reasons.

So my opinion is you probably were speeding and a hazard to other vehicles and pedestrians. And THAT'S the issue. But you think the big issue is the 'cop not doing his job properly' and you getting your constitutionally guaranteed time in court.

Pay up and out the nose, kid. And learn from it.
