First off, if you are considering a '95 M3, get ready for some wild rear wheel drive slippage during the winter. The previous generation 3 series didn't have all of the ESP, TRC, etc etc stability systems that the current generations have. Additionally, while the Viggen is no champ in the snow compared to an all wheel drive Quattro, it's front wheel drive atributes will serve you much better. Most people don't think of this when buying a car, but its a HUGE intangible I think. I also find the 95 M3 to have quite a dated design, and while the Vigg is based on an old platform, the ground effects and other aesthetic treatments really does give it a more recent feel.
Finally, the Viggen is such a unique car I mean how many people have a Vigg compared to M3. I wish Saab still sold NEW Viggens, because buying an out of warranty Vigg I think is a risk, but less so than a used M3.
Another thing you should consider is gas mileage, the Viggens are simply incredible. The M3 on the other hand, regardless of year, is quite the hog. Guess it didn't matter in 1995 ;)
Congrats on your graduation.
